Please log into your client account on the NousTalk platform (my client portal) to view the complete Terms of Service and Informed Consent Agreement. This privacy information is an excerpt from that agreement which clients consent to before career counselling and coaching services begin.

The personal information you provide for intake, all of our discussions, and my notes of our sessions are strictly confidential. The information is collected to provide career counselling and coaching services. I will not sell your contact information and will not release your name or contact information to any third parties without your written consent. At any time, you have the right to withhold or withdraw consent, or place conditions on the disclosure of your information.

Nothing you say will be released to a third party without your signed consent, except where required by law. Rare circumstances in which I may be ethically and legally required to speak to a third party without your consent include: if our discussion reveals that a child is at risk of abuse; if I have good reason to believe you will harm yourself or another person; in rare cases when you are involved in legal proceedings and records are subpoenaed by court order; or if I must defend a complaint filed with the Career Professionals of Canada or a legal action.

I am committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information and have developed policies and procedures in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Document Act, 2004 (PIPEDA) and the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA) including encrypted online forms, encrypted messaging and video calls, and locked storage of paper records. I keep client records for seven years. Electronic client information that is collected and saved on the NousTalk portal is stored on Canadian servers. I am based in Canada and work with clients in Canada and my online services are conducted under Canadian law.

In order to provide services to you, I collect the following information: name, address, email address, phone number(s), and emergency contact information. I also collect information to inform our career counselling work, which may include any correspondence sent or received, any consents or other documents you have signed or approved, copies of documents you have provided to me and other information necessary for counselling and coaching. Information is also collected and saved for billing purposes, which may include copies of all receipts given to you including copies of electronic payments, copies of invoices and billing records and information related to the scheduling of appointments with you.

To assist me with my work, I occasionally consult with professional colleagues to gain greater insight and feedback. If I consult regarding my work with you, I will protect your privacy and confidentiality by not using your name or any identifying details.
